Description
This black and white photograph features a hawk's nest on the side of a mountain. Four baby Ferruginous Hawks stand in the nest and three are facing the camera. The hawk on the right is facing the other three hawks. A dead gopher lays on the left side of the nest. Rocky outcrops are in the background and a valley is below. Handwriting is below the photograph.

15-22 The next is built of dead boughs and roots of sage brush. Note the dead gopher which is the principle food of these young birds.
