Description
This black and white photograph features a man leading a horse through the badlands. The horse is pulling a sled that is carrying a fossil. The man is wearing a brimmed hat and jacket, and the dark-colored horse has a saddlebag over its back and is wearing a horse collar. The fossil is tied to the wooden pallet by several ropes. Dry vegetation surrounds the horse and the man. They are following a path that leads them out of the eroded badlands so that the paleontologists can safely remove the fossil that they excavated. Numbers are written below the photograph.
