Artist's Statement
“Echo’s of Eden” draws inspiration from the biblical Garden of Eden, reflecting themes of creation, harmony, and the memory of a perfect beginning. The structured, radiating lines suggest order and divine design, while the organic crackle surface created through the raku process evokes the earth itself, formed, fractured, and alive. The red forms emerge like symbolic reminders of knowledge, temptation, and the moment of transformation that forever changed humanity’s relationship with paradise. Through fire and smoke, the surface records both beauty and imperfection, echoing the story of Eden as a place of purity that exists now only in memory. This piece reflects on the spiritual longing to return to a state of balance, innocence, and connection with creation.
