Artist's Statement
This piece summarizes my personal touchstones, or important things that have made me who I am today. The composition is focused on the figure of my dad who is sitting with my dog. Around him are items that have had a profound meaning to me growing up, including my Granddad’s chair, my barbie fishing pole, and my favorite painting. This work was created with graphite and I experimented with different shading techniques to achieve the final look.
