Abstract
This article uses the Star Model to guide research to identify strategies for enhancing home care safety. Home care service is a fast-growing industry. It is convenient and less expensive for patients to receive medical care in their comfortable space. However, nursing staff have minimum environmental control and may face unpredictable risks. In recent studies, the following focused question has been explored: What are the clients’ and nurses' home care safety needs? What is to be done to address these needs? Studies show that effective support systems, positive relationships, and implementing risk and error management training are essential to enhance home care safety. The outcomes can be evaluated by comparing the clinical incident reports before and after implementing the strategies for 6 months or one year.
