Abstract
Pharmacology is an overly complex subject within nursing school. Nursing requires students to develop theoretical based knowledge and clinical practice skills by the end of the program. Nursing education helps formulate safe and effective clinical judgments guided by the nursing process, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based practice. Nursing programs need to look at changing their curriculum to a more Concept-Based Curriculum. Changing from a traditional education approach that provides information overload and less active learning with students. Concept-Based Curricula help nursing students process information through new ways of learning, increase critical thinking and critical thinking skills, enhanced teamwork skills, and increased interest in learning pharmacology.
