Abstract
Retention rates for online students have been found to be lower than for students enrolled in face-to-face classes (Travers, 2016; Lee & Choi, 2011). However, having a positive perception of the university environment can lead to academic persistence and less attrition (Gloria & Kurpius, 1996). This study examined whether a significant difference exists between social work students completing their degree online and those completing their degree face-to-face as it pertains to their perception of the university environment.
