Abstract

I tested a variety of phenomena glazes, also known as crater, lava or reactive glazes. These glazes vary in color and surface textures caused by chemical agents such as silicon carbide. This research shows the chemicals used in these glazes, their reactions in the firing process and how they are applied to art.
