Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the history and potential of the oil and gas industry in Ireland. The research examined shows potential reservoirs are thought to have been located, but geological, political, and ideological factors are at play that prevents the fields acceleration. We seek to better understand how these factors prevent the growth and success of the industry, and the possible need for a stronger domestically produced resource supply in the very near future.
