Abstract

During the late 19th century a growing amount of American citizens were in favor of outlawing the production and sale of alcohol. One of the largest groups impacted by this change was the immigrating German nationals, who had beer at the center of their culture and life. This is why it is possible for the in flux of Germans to US shores could be slowed by Prohibition.
