Aims & Scope

JIIBR Aims & Scope

The Journal of International & Interdisciplinary Business Research (JIIBR) seeks to advance useful knowledge within and among the business disciplines by publishing and disseminating innovative, original scholarship. The Journal emphasizes two of the most potent and foundational features of the contemporary business environment: its inextricably global character, and the new insights to be gleaned at the confluence of the business domains. Thus, JIIBR publishes papers with either an international or interdisciplinary focus; the Journal particularly values papers with both international and interdisciplinary elements (excluding case studies). With respect to the scholarship of discovery, the Journal recognizes the usefulness of, and seeks to promote, both theoretical/conceptual and empirical works. Consistent with the Boyer model of scholarship, JIIBR also considers works that reflect the scholarship of integration, the scholarship of application, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Accordingly, each paper published in JIIBR contributes an original insight concerning at least one of the core academic business disciplines—including accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, international business, strategy, entrepreneurship, business law, logistics, informatics, ethics, and business pedagogy. The Journal endeavors to publish works that will be of interest to a broad business readership.

JIIBR is a double-blind, peer-reviewed scholarly journal and is published online. JIIBR is an open-access journal; as such, authors whose work is published in the Journal must agree to grant a Creative Commons license to JIIBR (authors retain ownership of all rights under copyright in their works). The Journal does not charge any fees at any point throughout its editorial or production processes; thus, there are no fees charged to submit work to the Journal, nor are there any fees to publish one’s work. The JIIBR Editorial Board intends to disseminate the research published in the Journal as widely and as freely as possible.

JIIBR is sponsored and overseen by the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Fort Hays State University.
