In this immediate area were located the dance halls and saloons. The Santa Fe engine round house was located south across the street. This area was the heart of early Newton. Carlos King and early law-man in Newton was killed - Lies buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Masonic Lot. First burial in Greenwood.
