Abstract
The specific problem or this thesis which is to determine whether children of the first grade who have had certain specific activities in connection with their regular school work achieve more and make better progress than children of the same grade who have not had experience in such activities. The particular activities in this experimental investigation were: (a) the "reading library"; (b) the "toy library".
