Description
This photograph, taken in the 1960s on Fort Hays Kansas State College campus, shows two women standing outside of McCartney Hall conversing. Both women have purses hung on their right shoulders and a stack of books in the crook of their left arm. The woman facing the camera has on a leather jacket and is wearing a brown leather shoulder bag. The other woman wears a short-sleeved pantsuit. A third person’s hands hold two books on the far right of the photo, and two people are leaving McCartney Hall in the background. Between the two women, and a few feet in front of McCartney Hall, is a tall black metal Victorian lamppost. The branches of a tree stick out of the top right corner of the photo and cast shadows on the sidewalk the women stand on.
