Description
This photograph, taken on the Fort Hays State University campus in the 1980s, shows a young man and a woman wearing Nike shoes sitting on the ground on a grassy area next to Lewis Field Stadium, holding a blanket over their heads. Two dumpsters are behind the pair, one a few feet behind them and the second several yards behind the first dumpster. Behind the closest dumpster and to the right, a person sits on the ground under an umbrella with a hand-held Playmate cooler on one side and an Igloo portable ice chest on the other. A crowd of 10-20 people are gathered in the top right corner next to a line of cars and trees. Beyond the grass, a parking lot contains a car parked on the left and a pickup with a topper parked in the middle. At the top, over the trees, McMindes Hall is slightly visible.
