The ten men participating in the challenge wear various clothing, from athletic to leisure. A crowd of onlookers at the top of the hill/slope are wearing attire popular in the early 1960s. The onlookers include children, young adults, and adults. Some women are in dresses and knee-length overcoats. Some have bouffant hairdos. Two of the women have handbags. The men and boys wear their short hair combed to the side.
