Description
The early 1980s Beloit High School Marching Band Photograph from FHSU’s Band Day. The black and white photo shows the Beloit High School marching band at the Band Day competition at Fort Hays State University, specifically seven members of the drumline and one drum major. The drum major wears a light-colored uniform and stands on a bench directing the band. Four members of the drumline are facing forward with their faces visible. They play snare drums and orchestral bells. The bells player wears a straw fedora, and a conical straw hat lies on the ground at their feet. A fifth member is facing forward, playing the xylophone, but their face is covered by a straw hat. Two members of the drumline are facing away from the photographer. One of their backs is visible, showing the word “Beloit” vertically on the back of their uniform. Visible in the background are flute, trombone, trumpet, saxophone, and clarinet players.
