Description

This black and white photograph features three men visiting during the 75th anniversary of Fort Hays State University, the same year the name was changed from Fort Hays Kansas State College in 1977. The unnamed older man on the left wears a polyester leisure jacket with a striped tie and thick, dark-rimmed glasses. The man in the middle, then-FHSU president Gerald “Jerry” W. Tomanek, wears a plaid suit jacket, striped wide tie, dark-rimmed glasses, and a nametag with a ribbon with FHSU printed vertically with 1902-1977 along the bottom. The man on the right, former Kansas Governor Robert Bennett, wears a light plaid suit coat, striped tie, and name tag with an FHSU ribbon. Both Tomanek and Bennett are in conversation with the unnamed man. The trio is standing in front of an unmarked wall with an outlet.
