Description
This black and white photographic postcard features a marker near Gardner, Kansas. The stone marks the location of the Santa Fe Trail through Kansas. A plaque is inset in the front of the stone. Trees are in the background. Prairie land surrounds the marker. Handwriting is on the back of the card.

Erected by The Old Settlers of Gardner. 1906. Santa Fe' Trail Monument. Gardner, Kan. 7/31/12 Dear Ana. I suppose you are still working at the store. My but isn't it awful hot for inside work this year. Our school house is just back of this stone there is a hedge around the grounds. The race track is just to your left of the stone. Will have to write a card to Matt. Goodbye. | Miss Ona Amos. Baldwin, Kan.
