Description
This black and white photographic postcard depicts an Indigenous person carved out of stone. The statue is dressed in an war bonnet and has one hand over the eyes to block the light and see farther. This statue has two braids, one over each shoulder and a necklace. The other arm is bent and a bow shaped black form rests on the stone hand. The body is covered with a loincloth. The form is leaning on a stone stump behind the statue. The words "The Indian" is carved into the front of the base of the sculpture. The statue is surrounded by barb wire fencing. Prairie vegetation is growing around the statue.
