From TOPEKA The Kansas home of John Morrell & Co., famous for MORRELL PRIDE Tender and E-Z Cut Hams and Bacon. Packers of BEEF PORK LAMB and manufacturers of Red Heart Dog Food. KANSAS The home of the famous tho' mythical Kansas Jayhawk - the bird that flies backwards - he doesn't care where he's going, but he sure wants to know where he's been! U.S.O. John Morrell & Co. is the fifth largest packer and the oldest meat packing firm now doing business in the United States. The business was started in Bradford, England, in 1827; in U.S.A., 1865; Ottumwa, Iowa, 1877; Sioux Falls, S. Dakota, 1909; Topeka, 1931. My Dearest, There isn't any news again tonite(sic), as usual.
