Description
This black and white photographic postcard depicts an approaching dust storm in the Midwest. A large black dirt cloud rolls along the ground in the background heading to the town buildings on the right. A building on the right has an advertisement for a coal distributor located in the town of Swastika, New Mexico; in 1940, the town was renamed Brilliant to avoid association with the rise of the German National Socialist, or Nazi, Party. In 1935, this advertisement is located at Scott City, Kansas. There is written text at the bottom of the card. There is handwriting on the back of the card.
