1st Div. Army of the Frontier Headquarters Department of Kansas Camp Bowen Arks. Nov. 10th 1862 Special Order No. 85 I The commanding officer of the 9th Regt. Kans. Vols. will drop the name of Thos. M. Bowen from the rolls of Co. 9th Regt. Kans. Vols. as Capt. of said Company from the 20th day of Sept. 1862. He having at that date been promoted to the Colonelcy of the 13th Kans. Vols. and have a remark to that effect entered on said rolls. By order of Brig. Gen. Blunt Lyman Scott Jr. Capt. & A. A. A. General Springfield Mo Feb. 20 1863 Show this day paid Col. Bowen, late Cap. Co. K 9th Kansas Con in full as [illegible] the date of his muster out $91.19 Wm. S. Pope DM NSO 1st Div. Army of the Frontier Headquarters Department of Kansas is marked out.] Col. Thos. M. Bowen 13th Regt. Kans. Vols. 2nd Brigade Muster out as Capt. Co K 9th Kansas to take position as Col 13th K. V.
