Abstract

Join Dr. Jay Steinmentz in discussing the ideological motivations and influences of America's constitutional framing. How can we evaluate conservative and progressive impulses in shaping the American Constitution? How did classical republicanism and classical liberalism influence our founders? Dr. Steinmetz argues that we should see the American framing as a composite of well-intentioned political theories, one that led to the creation of a liberal democratic constitutional republic.
