Abstract
Through their study of literature high school students are enlightened about life and living; they can see how many problems, similar to their own, have been faced and solved. The problem of this thesis is to find in the selection of the four Kansas approved texts in American literature for the eleventh grade examples which can be of value to the students for betterment of character and personality.
