Abstract
The purpose of the researcher was to investigate a transitional first grade program. The independent variables were gender and lunch status. The dependent variables were: scores from the Student Attitude toward Transitional First Grade instrument, scores from the Parent Attitude toward Transitional First Grade instrument, high school grade point average scores for high school seniors, middle school grade point average scores for high school seniors, elementary school grade point average scores for high school seniors, middle school grade point average scores for ninth grade students, elementary school grade point average scores for ninth grade students, and elementary school grade point average scores for seventh grade students.
