Abstract
The purpose of this thesis was to develop ceramic forms and surface decorations and to achieve a harmonious relationship between the two. The form and the surface of a pot are inseparable. One cannot exist without the other. The problem, then, is to keep both developing simultaneously and harmoniously, so that one reinforces the other. Both wheel-thrown and hand-built forms are included in this thesis.
