This black and white photograph features a fish within a fish fossil on display. A Gillicus arcuatus is inside a Xiphactinus molossus. The head of the Xiphactinus faces left, and the entire bone structure and fins are visible. The Gillicus arcuatus is underneath the bones in the center. The specimen is embedded in plaster and in a wooden frame. George F. Sternberg stands below the fossil, explaining the display to another man. Different specimens of fossils and a model Mastodon cover the wall.
