Description
This black and white photograph features two men sitting at the edge of a dig pit with a fossil of a human skeleton and a separate skull on the right. The man on the left is George F. Sternberg and he holds a can of shellac with a handle sticking out of it. The man on the right is brushing the shellac onto the skeleton, and both men wear gloves for the job. A tarp is raised right behind the men and supplies lay on the ground around them.
