Description

A black and white photo of an up close view of the section of the Edson Quarry in 1942. George Sternberg wrote on the photo and marked where the rhino skull was found. George Pierce is seen in the center and he is standing with a shovel in his hand. A pathway has been dug exposing the sand layer in the foreground. Grasses are on top of the bluffs behind George. The prairie is in the background.
