Description
This black and white photograph features an up-close view of the section of the Edson Quarry in 1942. George F. Sternberg wrote on the picture and marked where the rhino skull was found. George Pearce is in the center, standing with a shovel. A pathway has been dug, exposing the sand layer in the foreground. Grasses are on top of the bluffs behind George. The prairie is in the background.
