Description
This black and white photograph features a man standing next to a site where work on excavating a fossil has begun. Charles W. Gilmore is looking down at the fossil. There is a pick axe at his feet and another one on the other side of the pile where the fossil is located. There are loose rocks in the foreground. A bag is on top of the dirt pile. A truck is on the top of the hill on the upper right of the photograph.
