Description
This black and white photograph features two men jacketing a fossil to prepare it for transport. Jacketing is the process of constructing a plaster bandage to cover the specimen. George F. Sternberg, right, has a canvas in his hands, and the other man works on applying the plaster. They are both squatting on the ground on opposite sides of the fossil. Other tools and bags are in the foreground. A white border surrounds the photograph.
