Description

This black and white photograph features George F. Sternberg and Charles Lewis Gazin processing an excavated fossil. The men are sitting next to the fossil. TheSternberg, on the left has a hammer and another tool in his hands. Gazin, on the right, is holding an awl. There is a hammer and another tool on the ground next to him. Behind the men are bags and other items. Small rocks surround the fossil they are working on. A small part of a mountain valley is seen in the background.
