This black and white photo features Henry Reider with his bonophone. According to a piece in Time magazine dated June 15, 1936, Henry Peter Reider, 37, was the chief preparatory of the museum at the University of Nebraska. He used rib bones of a prehistoric rhinoceros to create a "bonophone" after finding out that the bones gave off a mellow sound. Cursive handwriting is in the top left corner.
