Description
This black and white photograph features an excavation site in Kansas south of Quinter where George Sternberg uncovered upright elephant bones. Sternberg is squatting on the right with his arm around a fossil in plaster. Other bones are visible in the center. The background consists of the pit wall. Written text is below the photograph.
