Description
This black and white photograph features a fossil of a fish within a fish. A Gillicus arcuatus is inside a Xiphactinus audax. The head of the Xiphactinus faces left and the entire bone structure and fins are visible. The Gillicus arcuatus is underneath the bones in the center. The specimen is embedded in plaster and in a wooden frame. The plaster has two vertical lines where the fossil was separated during the excavation. Written text is below the photograph.
