Description

This colorized photographic postcard features the unofficial neighborhood called "Sylvestre" at Rio de Janeiro. A path with metal rails in the ground for carts or trains winds from the foreground to the background at the bottom of the photograph. A person stand next to the rails. The sky has been colored blue and pink. Dense forest is in the background and a mountain pokes out of the top. Trees are on the left and right in the foreground. Printed text is at the bottom of the photograph.
