Description

This black and white photograph overlooks an outcrop, captured from across a draw. The purpose of the photo is to capture the details of erosion (rills and vertical crevices) on the stratified rock. Due to the exposure of the camera, the outcrop’s details appear deeper and darker towards the bottom and get lighter towards the top. Shrubbery is scattered along the side of the outcrop, with more focused around the plateau. The top of the outcrop is completely flat, and a small paleontological camp is pictured. Within the campsite, outlines of wagons and tents are found. Numbers are written below the photograph.
