Description
This black and white photograph features the badlands and the Missouri River in Montana. The land in the foreground is covered with grass and coniferous trees. Beyond this area is a valley. At the right side of the valley, part of the Missouri River is visible. The other wall of the valley is lined with badlands. These vast and stratified badlands are lighter in color at the bottom and are darker at the top. At the upper left of the photo, trees are visible on the top of the badlands. At the upper right of the photo, large outcroppings are visible. The Rocky Mountains are seen in the background. Handwriting is below the photograph.
