National Aeronautics and Space Administration Washington 25, D.C. For Release February 20, 1962 NASA Photo No. 62-MA6-135 Cape Canaveral, Fla. - Astronaut John Glenn is hoisted by a Navy helicopter from the deck of the USS Noa and transported to the USS Randolph. Glenn was retrieved 21 minutes after landing in sight of the destroyer Noa. A crane picked up the Friendship 7 spacecraft with Glenn aboard and lifted it onto it's deck.
