This black and white photograph is located in Halstead School of Nursing Class of 1951. John L. Gonzalez, back row at right, was the first male nursing graduate of this school and in the state of Kansas. His parents were Mexican immigrants. He grew up in Newton, KS. He worked as a nurse until 1965.
