Mrs. Maria Schaefer, first wife of Charles Schaefer, died April 23rd. 1885 age 43. She was born in New Mexico in 1842. She was survivied by Four sons, Charled Jr., John, Earl and Esia and a daughter Rose. She was an early community worker and was loved by all -- she helped many people. Charles Schaefer Born December 22, 1842 in Hamm Prussia he came to America when he was Six years old. He came to Kansas in 1869 and was active in the area until his death in Jan. 1934 Chas.
