This black and white photograph features a print of the A.T.& S.F. Engine 1880 during its working years. Written in pencil on back of photo: "Pg. 16 Neg. 20 Pict. 483. 2-6-2 Prairie Type. #1880 - 1800 Class - Baldwin. Coal Burner. Built 1907. One of 88 engines built. Rebuilt - Argentine (Kans. City Ks), Jan. 1928. Donated to Newton Kansas for display Nov. 18, 1955. 1880 was converted to oil burner in 1941 and assigned to the Middle Divn. Last used on work train out of Emporia, May 1953. - Mike Hurley" Full resolution copies of this file are not available. Printed text is above the photograph.
