Description
This black and white photograph features the platform at the Newton Santa Fe Depot in 1983. "Santa Fe Remains [human body] Truck. Bed is partially raised by use of the crank on the front end. It could be elevated to the height of a railroad baggage car door to load or unload remains. The remains were always loaded head first and unloaded feet first, without tipping same. -Mike Hurley."
