Description
This black and white photograph features the platform at the Newton Santa Fe depot. 1942. '"Steel-Wheeled Baggage Truck. The boy standing on the baggage truck is L. 'Chip' Hurley, brother of [Mike Hurley]. In the foreground is a baggage truck with a flat-iron edge. The bed and metal edge were kept clean and neat so as not to mar, dirty or damage luggage and baggage items which were hauled on it. In the background is a cream truck used to haul loaded cream cans and equipped with an upright iron edge to keep the cans from falling off. - Mike Hurley." Hurley, L.
