Description
This black and white photograph features the 1948 Fort Hays State College social dancing event photograph. The black-and-white photograph pictures students dancing. There are four women dancing, each with a man. Two of the women dancing are wearing dresses. The other two young women are wearing long A-line skirts. One skirt has ten tiers and shimmers like taffeta or satin. One woman in a dark velvet dress wears seamed stockings and sling-back heels. All the ladies have their hair curled, waved, or rolled. One woman’s hair is in a “victory roll” style. The man on the left is wearing horn-rimmed glasses. The man on the right is wearing a ring on his left hand. The men are wearing sport coats and dress pants or suits. One suit is double-breasted. The light is on the students, and shadows fade in the background.
