Description

This black and white photographic postcard features a group of girls lined up in front of a brick and limestone building. Eight girls stand in a row with baskets on one arm. They have stars and stripes material over one shoulder holding the baskets in place. Stars and stripes material also wraps around each girl's head. Written text is at the bottom of the card. Handwriting is on the back of the card.

Decoration Day. The Flower Girls Who Spred(sic) The Flowers Over The Graves of The Old Soldiers, May.30,1912, Luray, Kans. Dear Sis. Was up to Mr. Clevenger today and he read in Salina paper where McElroy of Palco was found unconscious by roadside. The motorcycle the cause. He is now in hospital in Denver. The paper stated he had never regained consciousness. If you want to find him he will likely be at railroad hospital. Let me hear from you right away. Claire Mabel Dolton Denver Colo 3434 Marion St.
