Description

A black and white photo taken at Jack Swayze's ranch in Clark County, Kansas during a faculty excavation trip. A wooden door and wooden walls have been placed at the front of a large hole in the side of a rock wall. The hole is being used as a place to store items used during the excavation. A man is standing next to the open door and has a small circular case and a closed tripod in front of him. A leather coat hangs on the door. Two pails are on the ground behind him. On the right side of the photo there are two men working with some of the items used in the excavations. One man is sitting with his back to the camera and the other man is standing and facing the other direction. They both are looking at something they are holding in their hands. There are a variety of items, including baskets, cloths, lunch pails, and rocks in the vicinity.
