Description

This black and white photograph captured a triangular edge of a rock outcrop. The incline goes from left to right. Climbing upward, two unidentifiable males that are wearing caps and overalls excavate the surrounding areas, with one paleontologist farther ahead than the other. This paleontologist is using a rock hammer or rock pick. Signs of erosion are evident on the striated outcrop. In the foreground of the photograph, a draw with a small stream is beneath the edge of the outcrop. In the background, the ravine grows behind the focal outcrop, separating it from another outcrop formation. Scattered along the sides of the outcrops and across the coulee are shrubbery and dry brush.
